New Strategies Unveiled at 2008 LIFE Banquet
It was during the lovely evening of May 5th, 2008 that 520 individuals were able to gather together and celebrate what the Lord is doing in the nations through LIFE International and our partners. Amidst the beautiful surroundings of Fredrick Meijer Gardens, attendees (60% of whom were new friends of LIFE) were invited not only to get to know LIFE International by hearing what has been accomplished to date through LIFE, but also to be a part of its future and join LIFE in the goal to become “viral” by spreading hope, love, and life exponentially around the world.
Christina Milford, Center Director in Jamaica, reminded the entire audience why we were there at the banquet.
For, as she explained it, without the financial and prayer support of our LIFE contributors, there wouldn’t be a pregnancy resource center in Jamaica today. The training and discipleship that LIFE brings is a greatly needed and effective ministry, and it was encouraging to hear how the Lord is impacting the island of Jamaica through the work of the PRC of Jamaica.
While the Lord has been using the work of LIFE partner ministries to save lives and introduce people to the gospel, LIFE’s President Kurt Dillinger stressed that there is much more to be done. To meet this great need there are exciting plans for the future including partnering with church planting groups, establishing an online equipping initiative called LIFE International University, and making such program information portable though backpacks. These approaches will reach people never before contacted and will multiply the life-giving mission in a progressive and effective way.
The question we as Christians ask is “what would you have us do, Father? What do you have in mind for us?” We are driven to follow the Lord’s will in saving lives both spiritually and physically. As LIFE continues to develop, empower, and release our international partners, we have seen changed lives around the world. With His continued blessing and guidance, the “life-giving virus” will only continue to grow. It’s a spiritual battle we are in, as Kurt Dillinger stated so well, but our God has won! And all of us in attendance at the banquet were blessed to be reminded of that truth.
