LIFE Team to Travel to Kitwe, Zambia for Pro-Life Conference
LIFE International is sending a team to Zambia this week for a conference focusing on the sanctity of human life. In Kitwe, Zambia, Sara Rose Children’s Foundation and their crisis pregnancy center, Silent Voices, have joined with LIFE International to sponsor the Pan-African Conference for Life, which will draw 1,000 people from eight surrounding countries. Attendees will include government workers, medical professionals, pastors, and pro-life workers. Presentations will cover topics such as the sanctity of human life and fetal development related to abortion. The conference will begin with a day of prayer.
In Zambia, abortion is illegal except in the following cases: to save the life of the woman, to preserve mental or physical health, fetal impairment, or for economic or social reasons. The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is working with members of the medical community to expand access to abortion in Zambia. This, coupled with the current U.S. Administration’s decision to fund groups promoting and performing abortions overseas, underscores the importance and timeliness of this conference.
